Proposed Minimum Salary
The Technician I, under general supervision, assists in planning research on support laboratory methods and techniques, carrying out procedures, and recording results for a series of closely-controlled experiments.
Establish and maintain a colony of the boll weevil in the laboratory
Conduct bioassays to evaluate the successful knockdown of genes and associated phenotypes
Uses computer compiling data in an organized fashion that helps expedite data analysis
Other job-related duties that may be assigned.
Education:Bachelor's degree in entomology, plant pathology, biology, or any related field or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of laboratory equipment, scientific apparatus and computer equipment
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
