THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Candidate will ensure communications information is available to forward deployed forces supporting continuing mission requirements of the Department of Defense (DoD) by providing support to communications systems acquisition, integration, installation, operations & maintenance (O&M) in support of USAFCENT deployed mission requirements. There is no specification or limitation to the actual tasks to be performed. Candidate will work as part of a team and must display a rigorous work ethic and possess the initiative and independent thinking to thrive in a dynamic environment. Candidate must have the ability to engineer, install and maintain network equipment to support new and emerging requirements. The candidate shall provide responsive services to include real-time network-level configuration control, network restoration, quality control and performance standards, status reporting, MSL, and other actions required by policies, responsibilities and operational support to all NOSC deployed projects.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

Associate level of “hands on” work experience in support of installations, repair, and troubleshooting or maintenance of communications systems or equipment.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

Intermediate level of experience working with DSCS or Commercial Satellite Terminals as specified to include:

  • X, C, KA, Ku-band, Tri-band Satellite Terminals

  • FDMA, TDMA, IP Type satellite modems

JOB DETAILS:

  • Provide day-to-day technical operations of the SATCOM terminals to include, but not limited to:

  • Reporting of circuit status

  • Troubleshooting circuit and equipment outages

  • Maintaining operating logs to applicable DISA and USAFCENT standards. Must be familiar with preparation of reports as required

  • Installation, operation, and maintenance of equipment to support SATCOM operations to include primary and auxiliary equipment listed:

  • Deployable and Fixed C, L, X, Ka, and Ku-band Earth Terminals; multiple configurations

  • FDMA, TDMA, IP Modems

  • Antennas, Waveguides, and other Radio Frequency equipment

  • Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPA), High Power Amplifiers (HPA), Block UpConverters (BUC), Low Noise Amplifiers (LNA), Up and Down Converters, etc.

  • Modems, DMD-2050E, SLM 8650, OM-73, I –Direct Evolution Series, and Linkway

  • Promina Multiplexer series

  • Fiber Optic modems; Single Mode (SM) & Multimode (MM)

  • Test Equipment - Fireberd 6000 & 8000, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, TBERD 6000, Signal Generators, Power Meters, Multimeters, Communications System Analyzers, etc.

  • Encryption Devices, KIV-7M, KIV-19, KG-75, KG-175, KG-250

  • GPS receivers

  • Power generating equipment

  • Submission of all periodic and event reports

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Active Defense (DoD) security clearance at SECRET or TOP SECRET / SCI level is required

US Citizenship is required

Valid United States passport required

Cisco certifications below required

Experience using computer systems and Microsoft Office suite of products

Ability to accurately document routine work and while troubleshooting problems

Well-developed oral and written communications skills

EDUCATION:

Must have a high school diploma

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline is a plus, but not required

CERTIFICATIONS:

Must meet the certification requirement of DoD 8570.01-M or otherwise stated in SPIN-C. The candidate is expected to have, but is not limited to, the following IT certificate:

  • Security+
