Experienced Test Cell Operator Aviation Mechanic II. A person in this position has the following responsibilities; Performing moderate to complex operations involving inspection, and test of aircraft engines.
This worker also applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals. Work typically requires a thoroughly comprehensive knowledge of aircraft Test Cell mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft Test Cell Operations repairs and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems. A detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, etc. is required.

AECOM is currently seeking a qualified Aircraft Mechanic II Test Cell mechanic in support of U.S. Navy GSE contract maintenance operations in Solomon Island MD.
Candidates with prior engine run cell experience highly preferred. Avionics or Electrical background preferred to allow for proper troubleshooting skills.
High School graduate or equivalent with a minimum five (5) years actual and recent depot level aircraft structural maintenance / repair experience is required.
Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is mandatory.
Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks.
Must be able to pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
Perform engine testing and analysis using sound principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures and product requirements.
Must be familiar with Aircraft Crash Crane hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic system operation.
Work with manufacturing equipment used in assembly, inspection, and test; i.e., forklift and overhead cranes.
Must be able to replace the DC motor and properly align motor and gearbox on the AECTS bench.
