Schenectady Municipal Housing Authority Facilities Painter in Schenectady, New York

The Schenectady Municipal Housing Authority (SMHA) is seeking to fill the full-time position of Facilities Painter.
Employees in this position provide quality interior and exterior painting and dry wall services to all the SMHAs properties.
Job duties include, but are not limited to preparing surfaces for painting, making minor repairs such as small imperfections,spackling, joint compounding and taping, and moving large items away from surfaces to be painted. Conforming to EPA Renovation, Repair and Painting Program (RRP) safe work practices to control lead-based paint hazards is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and completion of a painting apprenticeship plus two years of painting experience; OR
-Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and three years of painting experience; OR
-An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of A & B above.
Special Requirements: Must possess a valid NYS Drivers license at the time of appointment and must maintain such license throughout the tenure of appointment. Must complete a lead-based paint renovation, repair and certification at time of appointment.
Starting Salary: $38,638.83. Full benefit package including health insurance and participation in the New York State and Local Retirement System.
Normal Work Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
