Cameron’s Valves & Measurement
Our V&M segment includes businesses that provide valves and measurement systems primarily used to control, direct and measure the flow of oil and gas – from individual wellheads through flow lines, gathering lines and transmission systems to refineries, petrochemical plants and other fluid processors. V&M’s product line offers many kinds of specialized valves as well as sophisticated measurement products including totalizers, meters and sampling systems. Because many of its products are highly technical, V&M’s marketing effort is supported by a collaboration of engineering specialists.
Job Summary The Mechanical Engineer provides engineering support and assistance to the Engineering Manager by participating in the creation of new configurations of an existing products, sustaining and continuous improvement activities related to those products, and could also participate in development of expanded or new product lines. The Mechanical Engineer follows through on product development from basic concept to full production assuring that all new products adhere to the quality standards of Cameron's Muskegon facility. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for applying engineering principles to design, modify, develop and test products.
Minimum Job Qualifications
This position requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Manufacturing preferred)
Proficient computer skills, including a working knowledge of 3-D CAD; Solidworks or Inventor; and Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.
Familiarity with dimensioning in accordance with industry standards.
Excellent analytical and problem solving capabilities as well as spatial concepts.
Sound mechanical ability.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with ERP systems - SAP most desirable
Previous experience in Oil & Gas or Manufacturing industry preferred
Previous experience with gear designing a big plus
