JOB REQUIREMENTS: Mechanical Engineer (WD30044471054) The Building Technology and Solutions Group develops, installs, and services Building Management Systems, Controls, and Equipment. In this role you will be responsible for designing and maintaining the embedded controls which are used to host the applications and interface between the mechanical systems of a building, and the operators of these systems. How you will do it: Design and develop packaging enclosures and related components for building controls products by using CAD tools to create products that may involve: injection molding, metal component fabrication, interconnections and cable harnesses, user interface displays, environmental protection and sealing, vibration protection, electronic noise prevention, and mechanism design. Key technical aspects of the job include creating cost effective package designs, selecting suitable components, performing thermal analyses, coordinating tool development, guiding product geometries, prototyping, analysis, and test. Other job aspects include working on multi-discipline teams, creating and maintaining documentation per JCI processes, engineering change management, refining design requirements, creating specifications, conducting and participating in design reviews, formulating test plans to assure product quality, utilizing lab equipment and analysis tools and guiding the testing and validation of products. As a member of the product development team, assignments may include a wide variety of products and related tasks. Determines best approach for engineering problem solving. Defines specifications for parts, design, and testing. Provide innovative idea generation in product development process improvements and refinements particularly as they apply to mechanical hardware and enclosure development. Participate in system development activity to assure our designs are technically sound and we meet requirements and compliance standards (CE, UL, FCC, etc). Provide oversight on development projects to ensure diligence to product development process is being maintained. Actively advocate innovation and drive continuous improvement. Drive excellence.
