Must correctly read and interpret design drawings and shop order routings. Pass AWSd1.1 vertical down and weld all gages of sheet metal, plate and tube. Know correct leg size of weld and be able to use weld gage. Must know how to run hand held plasma. Spray and what kind of wire and gases to use when welding 95-5 and 90-10. Be able to air arc. Knowledge and / or experience in all welding areas, concentration on welding accuracy to achieve quality end product. Know when to bevel tube and use of heat stick in roll bar or heavy bar welding. When welding mounts, welder must grind mounts after welding. Forklift operator s license may be needed. Some attention and care required to prevent damage to hand and power tools. Inspects welded joints to ensure weld meets print, company standards, and customer job specifications. Reports to department supervisor, takes work direction from team leader. Must work in cooperation with other team members. Responsible to assess problems and report issues with recommended solutions. Ability to read and comprehend operator instructions, maintenance manuals, process instructions and memos is necessary.
