JOB SUMMARY - Fiscal Technician II/III: Department: Bartlett Surgery & Specialty Clinic Reports To: Physician Office Manager Under direct supervision, the Fiscal Tech II is the billing resource for their assigned specialty. This position is responsible for developing basic understanding of billing & A/R functions for all providers in department, and being able to complete these functions under general supervision. This includes having knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, billing, modifiers and insurance specific rules for assigned insurances in related specialties. The Fiscal Tech II is a point of contact for patients with billing, insurance and coding questions. This position will act as a resource for other billing staff to ensure that the optimum coverage is obtained for the patients we serve. Under general supervision, the Fiscal Tech III is the billing resource for all related providers. This position is responsible for understanding and managing the billing & A/R functions for all providers. This includes having knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, coding/billing, modifiers and insurance specific rules for all insurances in all specialties within related clinics. The Fiscal Tech III is the main point of contact for providers, patients & co-workers with billing, insurance and coding questions. This position will assist with the training and act as a resource for other billing staff to ensure that the optimum coverage is obtained for the patients we serve. This position will also cover for the Fiscal Supervisor (when available) in their absence. This position is expected to be a resource to other staff in more than on medical specialty. Our C.A.R.E.
