Description: The flight technician is responsible for the disassembly, repair, re-assembly and visual inspection of Rolls-Royce gas turbine engine components and associated airframe components in a shop or field environment. Each technician is expected to perform his/her duties in a satisfactory manor while under direct supervision of their assigned team lead to be determined by our Quality and Operations management team. Each technician will be jointly responsible for their career path and development toward future organizational growth, including leadership roles.
Minimum Job Responsibilities:
•Competently disassemble, clean, and assemble engines and modules at an intermediate level.
•Operate equipment such as forklift, scissor lift, hoist, pneumatic and power hand tools, along with special engine tools.
•Operate precision tools and equipment to perform accurate dimensions without error.
•Comply with work scope instructions as directed by our Maintenance Operations Center or your team lead.
•Use troubleshooting logic to identify defects in component or parts.
•Access and use engine data materials such as AMM, EMM, IPC Etc.
•Understand; interpret and apply Service Bulletins, FAA Advisory Directives and Technical Variances when applicable.
•Read and interpret engineering drawings.
•Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
•Provide logistics support such as, shipping, receiving and inventory.
Requirements: Basic Qualifications:
•High School Diploma or equivalent
•FAA Airframe & Power Plant License
•4+ years working with gas turbine engine components or similar industry experience.
•Ability to lift engine components weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
•Ability to read, write, comprehend and speak English at the 12th grade level or better.
•Ability to work any shift and overtime as needed.
•Ability to travel up 80% domestically and internationally as needed.
•Ability to pass an FAA required eye exam.
•Ability to Interface with customers as required.
•Participation in an FAA Drug & Alcohol Abatement Program.
•Responsibility for paperwork including log book entries, 8130-3 and return to service documents.
•Ability to obtain and hold full inspection authority
•Able to act in a lead capacity when directed by our Maintenance Operations center.
•Common knowledge and the ability to bore scope up to three types of Rolls-Royce gas turbine engines.
•6+ year’s prior gas turbine or similar aviation experience.
•Strong leadership skills with past experience.
•Bore Blend knowledge or extensive Bore scoping capabilities
