This job was posted by https://joblink.alabama.gov : For more information, please see: https://joblink.alabama.gov/ada/r/jobs/2430641 ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs all aspects of satellite communications system operation, maintenance, preventive maintenance and logistical support, and follow all Quality Control (QC) guidance.Enforces quality control standards when performing electronic equipment installations, repairs or modifications.Performs or assists in the installation of new equipment and systems.Operates, maintains, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, configures, and reconfigures a Defense Satellite Communications System (AN/FSC-78B), Commercial C-band Earth Terminal, and the following types of related or ancillary systems: Digital Communications Satellite Subsystem (AN/MSC-66), DFCS Satellite Network Monitoring System (AN/GSC-51), Controller interfaces, analog to digital converters, fiber optic/copper interface systems, Military standard/commercial interface converters, multiplexers, modulators and demodulators, frequency converters, power transmitters (HPA's and SSPA's), low noise receivers, RF combiners and splitters, precision timing distribution systems, COMSEC devices, antenna control systems.Activates, tests, and maintains permanent and temporary circuits to support RTS, DSCS, DISA, Army Space Command, and Executive service communications.Responds and follows the operational directions from Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and SATCOM Network Control Elements.Performs shift work, as SATCOM is a 24/7 operation.Performs other related duties as assigned. JOB SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:Required: Proven ability to competently and quickly resolve communication anomalies between SATCOM system elements, and interconnected telecommunication nodes.Extensive demonstrated ability to effectively operate and troubleshoot military communications systems and satellite links utilizing military TSO's, Technical Manuals (TM), and schematic diagrams.Demonstrated experience with various electronic test equipment to include multi-meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, frequency generators and counters, network analyzers, Firebird and T-Bird test sets, and optical test sets.Desired: Knowledge of Six Sigma program tools and methodologies and/or Six Sigma Certification. Knowledge of DISA procedures, regulations, and circulars.Exceptional judgment, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent. EXPERIENCE (Years):Required: 4 years relevant X/K/C band military SATCOM terminal experience and a High School Diploma or equivalent and graduate of the Military SATCOM System Operations/Maintenance Course or civilian equivalent.6 years relevant X/K/C band military SATCOM terminal experience and a High School Diploma or equivalent may be considered. Desired: 5 years of relevant X/K/C band military SATCOM Terminal Experience.3 years of experience working on Military AN/FSC-39, 52, 78 SATCOM Terminals.EDUCATION:Required: High School Diploma or equivalent and graduate of the Military SATCOM System Operations/Maintenance Course or civilian equivalent and 4 years relevant X/K/C band military SATCOM terminal experience.High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant X/K/C band military SATCOM terminal experience may be considered. Desired: Associates of Science in Communications/Electronics or related field.OTHER SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:Common Access Card (CAC) required to perform job duties.This position is unaccompanied.US DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.US citizenship is required.Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll. Traveling to Kwajalein Atoll, you are required to have a valid passport in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay on Kwajalein Atoll.
