Role Summary:

Baker Hughes, a GE company is offering the exciting opportunity as a Mechanical Tester to be part of the Completion and Wellborn Intervention team at our Navigation facility in Houston, TX. The mechanical tester performs functional testing on assemblies per engineering and customer requirements to ensure perfect quality is maintained.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ableto read assembly drawings/bill of materials.

  • Focuseson testing of products to fulfill the production schedule and manufacturingrequirements.

  • ·Ensure all products are assembled & tested to meet the quality standards inaccordance with procedures, engineering specifications, drawings, workinstructions and customer requirements.

  • Transactmaterial, process orders, and open work instructions via computer.

  • Supportsany other activities/tasks as required to complete or meet performance,quality, and/or delivery targets.

  • Maintainan organized / visual workspace.


  • HighSchool diploma or GED.

  • 1+years of mechanical or mechanic experience.

  • Goodmechanical background.

  • Self-starterand the desire to lead others in work efforts.

  • Abilityto operate forklifts and other material moving equipment.

  • Workin a hands-on environment and able to safely lift 30 pounds

  • Abilityto read and interpret assembly instructions and engineering drawings.

  • Abilityto follow formal procedures and maintenance practices. 

  • Abilityto read and understand the English language.  

  • Abilityto perform basic mathematical calculations.  

  • Goodmechanical aptitude.  

  • Basiccomputer skills.  

  • Goodcommunication skills.  

  • Mustbe able to work 2 nd Shift 2:30pm – 10:30pm.

  • Availabilityto work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required.

  • Mustbe authorized to work in the US, for any employer, without sponsorship

Desired Characteristics:

  • Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions and engineeringdrawings.

  • Proficient in the use of departmental equipment, machines, handtools and power tools needed for assembly.

  • 3+ years of mechanical experience.

  • Mechanical experience with oil tools.
