The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) aircraft ordnance systems mechanic. To test, troubleshoot, inspect, modify and repair egress/ jettison systems used on assigned aircraft; instruct reservists and other employees augmenting teams and accomplish operational tests of all components of said systems.

- Perform operational (or simulated operational) tests of egress and canopy jettison systems to ensure proper operation of all components using canopy blow testers, specialized test gauges, and push/pull spring scales.
- nspect all explosive devices and performs continuity test of all firing circuits on egress, jettison and canopy actuating systems of the aircraf
- -Use special and standard tests equipment, gauges, and hand tools in accomplishing repair, modification, and maintenance work.
- Remove and replace explosive devices as required by time change requirements, time compliance technical orders, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance

- Position may or will require incumbent to Fly in military and/or commercial aircraft in the performance of temporary duty (TDY) assignments
- Required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties: however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities
- Position may require a background security investigation to determine suitability for employment and/or a security clearance

- Heavy lifting (80 lbsand over). Heavy lifting (45-79 pounds) Light lifting (15lbs) Heavy carrying (45 lbs and over). Moderate carrying (15-44 lbs) Light carrying (under 15 lbs) Hours of straight pulling are 2 hours/week.
- Hours of pulling hand over hand are 1 hrs/week. Hours of pushing are 2 hours/week. Reaching above should. Use of fingers. Both hands required. Hours of walking are 2 hours/day. Hours of standing are 4 hours/day.
- Hours of kneelings are 4 hrs/week. Hours of repeated bending are 4 hours/week. Hours of climbingm, legs only are 8 hrs/week. Climbing, use of legs and arms. Both legs required. Operation of crane, truck, tractor, or motor vehicle.
- Ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simutaneously. Near vision correctable at 13 inches to 16 inches to Jaeger 1 to 4. Far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and 20/40 in the other. Both eyes required. Depth perception.
- Ability to distinguish basic color. Ability to distinguish shades of color. Hearing (aid permitted) If it can be accomidated, a specific physical condition or impairment will not automatically disqualify a candidate.
