Responsible for installation of the various cable connectors and the use of the different kinds of cable test equipment. Fabricates Aegis tactical cables, commercial cables to include (fiber optic cable splicing), power cables, and hybrid cables (commercial to tactical). Manufactures breakout boxes, tape carts, cable management hardware, and assemble/design various small projects. Interface with supply personnel and end users to coordinate the receipt of supplies and define scope of the tasks. Coordinates, supervises, and/or manages support personnel. The position is not covered under the Service Contract Act (SCA) Davis Bacon Act (DBA), or union.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assemble over a hundred different connector types without constant retraining.
- Know the impedance for the different kinds of triaxial and coaxial cables.
- Know the different tactical color codes.
- Research connector data.
- Support Warehouse and equipment movement when required
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- May require occasional travel.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- 2 years of NTDS, fiber optic and commercial cable fabrication experience.
- Must have or be able to attain a DOD security clearance.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, corrected sight vision of 20/20, the capability to identify all colors (not colorblind).

Must have security clearances or be eligible for security clearances. May require occasional travel.
