This position creates value by supporting the operation and is a key resource to ensuring manufacturing operations run safely and reliably, thus maintaining production goals. The current rate for this position is $27.21 per hour. Successful candidates must be willing and able to complete the certification requirements for a 1st Class General Mechanic within twenty-five (25) months of their hire date into this position.nn

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

nn


+ Troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery

n

+ Operating equipment such as hoists, man-lifts, rigging equipment, cranes and forklifts

n

+ Installing and aligning new equipment.

n

+ Welding, cutting, fitting and installing metal work and piping throughout the facility

n

+ Following work plans and schedules and reading P&IDs /mechanical drawings

n

+ Performing periodic proactive work, such as maintenance routes, preventative maintenance, and other tasks to improve reliability and uptime

n

+ Maintaining accurate maintenance logs including labor hours and critical preventive maintenance findings

n

+ Working with the operations and maintenance teams to identify and prioritize maintenance needs

n

+ Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures and actively participating in the safety program

n

+ Applying problem solving methods to identify the root cause of problems and eliminate failures

n

What You Will Need:

nBasic Qualifications:

+ A high school diploma or equivalent

n

+ Qualified candidates must meet at least one of the following criteria:

n

+ At least two (2) years of mechanical or electrical technical school or equivalent training / education OR

n li>At least two (2) years of mechanical or electrical experience in an industrial environment.

n

+ Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment, i.e.: safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots and other PPE as required by specific jobs

n

+ Able to take and pass a pulmonary function test

n

+ Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment

n

+ Willing and able to operate mobile equipment to include; forklifts, man lifts, utility carts and other equipment as needed

n

+ Willing and able to set up, climb and work from ladders

n

+ Willing and able to work any shift, to include, but not limited to: rotating shifts, variable start times, evenings, weekends, holidays, call-outs and/or overtime

n

+ Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to sixteen (16) hours in a day
