INSULATION CONTRACTOR SERVICES Mechanical Insulation Estimator in CAMBRIDGE, Iowa

General PurposeTo analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for insulation related products, projects, and/or services.Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities-Review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists.-Able to read and interpret blueprints and specifications accurately.-Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work; preparing bids; and determining cost effectiveness.-Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.-Consult with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.-Communicate with other ICS employees to obtain support and commitment to cost estimates.-Organize and manage a centralized cost estimating database and a formal process to support cost estimating to ensure historical data is utilized.-Analyze completed projects to compare estimated cost to actual cost and determine reasons for discrepancies to help reduce reoccurrences.-Provide improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual cost.-Identify cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts.-Insure that material, labor, taxes and insurance information is kept current.-Work to grow the business and bring in new customers as well as maintain current clients.Qualifications and Key Skills-College degree (preferred) or at least 7 years direct/directly related field industry experience.-Computer Competent and knowledgeable in Excel, Word and Outlook.-Craft knowledge in insulation.-Experience/knowledge with MIKE (Mechanical Insulation Key Estimator) software preferred.-Knowledge of current materials, methods, and the tools involved industrial and commercial insulation.-Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective safety operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.-Strong math aptitude algebra and geometry skill.-Possess strong time management skills.-Self-Sufficient-Familiar with Accounting and Billing process.-Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skill.-Strong work ethic and moral ethic with ability to exercise sound judgement.-The marginal functions of this position have not been included.
